Sharp HealthCare goes live with Vontu
Seven-hospital health network chooses data loss prevention leader for patient information protection, HIPAA compliance
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — November 27, 2006 — Vontu, Inc., the leader in Data Loss Prevention solutions, today announced that Sharp HealthCare, a seven-hospital, 1,800-bed health network located in the metropolitan San Diego area, has selected and implemented Vontu 6.0 to protect the group's sensitive patient and employee information. Sharp evaluated several solutions and selected Vontu 6.0 for its ability to protect both data in motion and data at rest, as well as its platform scalability and remediation workflow. Vontu 6.0 enables Sharp HealthCare to automate data loss prevention policies and support compliance with data privacy regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Vontu 6.0 will allow Sharp HealthCare to protect exposed confidential data on laptops, desktops and servers (data at rest), as well as monitor all network traffic for confidential information (data in motion).
