Vontu 6.0 protects intellectual property at Visto Corporation

Vontu helps wireless leader prevent loss of confidential information, safeguard overseas operations

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — May 17, 2006 — Vontu, Inc., the leader in Data Loss Prevention solutions, today announced that Visto Corporation, the leading global provider of secure push mobile email, has deployed Vontu 6.0 to protect its intellectual property as it expands its development operations overseas. Visto is currently in the process of finalizing implementation of the entire Vontu suite of products to discover and protect confidential data on its corporate network, monitor and prevent confidential data from leaving the network, and automatically enforce data loss prevention policies. Visto joins a growing list of companies that use award winning Vontu technology to prevent data loss.

  • Indexed Document MatchingTM technology in Vontu 6.0 enables Visto to monitor and block transmissions of unstructured data such as source code and other proprietary documents with the highest degree of accuracy
  • Directory Group MatchingTM enables Vontu 6.0 users to fine-tune policies to either target or exclude specific groups of employees. For example, policies may be tuned to increase scrutiny for contractors or high-risk employees, or varied based on country or authorization level
  • Through its recently announced partnership with Blue Coat Systems, Vontu 6.0 also provides Visto with an integrated solution to prevent the loss of confidential data over SSL-encrypted communications, including secure Web mail, secure anonymizers and secure remote terminals or peer-to-peer services for the transfer of data.   • The two-tier architecture of Vontu 6.0 enables centralized policy management and incident reporting, coverage of multiple network exit points, including remote data centers, and enterprise scale at a minimum Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
