Vontu named in the Leader Quadrant of Magic Quadrant for content monitoring and filtering
Report cites "immediate value" of protecting corporate intellectual assets and customer privacy; evaluates Vontu on ability to execute and completeness of vision
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — February 27, 2006 — Vontu, Inc., the leader in Data Loss Prevention solutions, announced today that it has been positioned in the Leader quadrant in the "Magic Quadrant for Content Monitoring and Filtering, 2006," a report by Gartner analysts Paul E. Proctor and Rich Mogull, published on February 17, 2006.
"Content monitoring and filtering (CMF) tools provide immediate value in protecting corporate intellectual assets and customer privacy," the report states.
Gartner, Inc.'s Magic Quadrant positions vendors in a particular market segment based on their vision and ability to execute. "Leaders" are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market. In the Magic Quadrant for Content Monitoring and Filtering, execution criteria included performance, manageability and workflow, as well as channels monitored, blocking, e-mail integration and detection techniques. The vision criteria included market understanding, product strategy and innovation.
"By positioning Vontu in the leader quadrant in the CMF Magic Quadrant, we believe Gartner has recognized our track record of groundbreaking product innovation and customer success," said Joseph Ansanelli, chairman and CEO of Vontu. "We look forward to extending our position with the delivery of Vontu 6.0, which we announced last week, and by helping our Fortune 500 and government clients to establish industry best practices for data loss prevention."
Vontu has established its market position by enabling customers to protect both data in motion and data at rest, achieve detection accuracy across all content and groups, and automatically enforce data loss prevention policies. With Vontu 6.0, the company introduced the ability to automatically quarantine or delete confidential data found on servers and desktops, monitor and block HTTPS and FTP transmissions, and fine-tune policies to either target or exclude specific groups of employees.
